Well that was fun!!!

I spent the last 3 months working at a sports and golf resort in the UK, It was a very special place to go back to. below is why….

“I am an art therapist/ artist living in Australia for over a decade, but originally from the Midlands
I was extremely unwell with anorexia and depression in my teens, during two hospital visits my dad brought me to the manor as a 12 year old. The short time I was here gave me a little insight into the life I could be living if I overcame my mental illness and fought to stay alive. I continued to struggle with mental illness for over a decade and almost didn’t make it to adulthood numerous times. With my past in mind, the opportunity to leave my mark at the Manor was too good to be true!
I credit my art practice and art therapy as an integral part of my recovery. I also remember my time at Manor House as being a ray of hope in my troubled teens.
The mural is a celebration of health, vitality, activity & all the joy that can be had at the Manor. It has been over 20 years since I came here as an unwell teen and I leave as a thriving artist and mental health advocate. I hope the mural brings joy to everyone who sees it.

I am so honored and proud to  have been able to create meaningful art for a living. this project has to be one of my favorites to date
